Sound
The project's sound library -- naming each sound and marking where it lines up with picture.
The project's sound library: every audio file in the project Media gallery, listed with its length and its sync points. Upload or generate audio on Project Media, then come back here to give each sound the name your production calls it by -- editable in place -- and to mark where it lines up with picture.
Sync points
Sync points open a waveform view of the sound. A sync point is the moment inside the file that gets matched to the picture: the crack of a gunshot, the accent of a sting. Add them, remove them, and choose which one is the anchor.
Sync points are facts about the recording, so they are shared everywhere that sound is used -- a sound shown as Shared is one whose file belongs to another entity, and its facts are edited on the owner.
How any single placement plays -- its level, its trim, its fades -- is decided on the sequencer instead, where you can hear it against picture.
