Episode Plan
The phase-by-phase production checklist with AI assessment and sign-off.
The Episode Plan page provides a structured production checklist for an episode. It maps the eight production phases to specific steps and acceptance criteria, and lets you track progress through each.
Layout
The page is split into two panels:
Left panel — the plan tree:
- Phases (e.g. Architect, Narrate, Mix)
- Steps within each phase
- Acceptance criteria within each step
- Checkboxes showing approval state
- Previous / Next navigation between steps
Right panel — the current step:
- Full description of the step's purpose and requirements
- Assessment tools
- Sign-off controls
Acceptance criteria dispositions
Each acceptance criterion has one of three states:
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | Not yet assessed or signed off |
| Approved | You've confirmed this criterion is met |
| Skipped | You've explicitly decided to skip this criterion for this episode |
AI Assessment
Click Run Assessment on a step to send the current criterion to an AI evaluation. The AI reads relevant project and episode data and returns a verdict with reasoning. Results stream in and display inline.
The assessment creates a conversation context — you can interact with it to ask follow-up questions or request suggestions.
Inline asset creation
From within the Episode Plan, you can create production assets without navigating away:
- Create swimlanes
- Create characters, locations, or world-building events
- Insert episodes into an arc timeline
Data
The plan template is loaded from the project's workflow definitions. Each episode has its own instance (progress state) stored separately from the template, so you can update the template without losing per-episode progress.
The Schedule
The Schedule page reads due dates and completion flags from all episodes' plan states to generate a cross-episode production timeline.
